underground station in Barcelona, he chose to tell the story of the city through
a collage of archival photos depicted on ceramic tiles. The project required
high precision technology to faithfully render the historic images, circa 1890
and onward, in specific shades of blue and white. To carry out his vision, which
entailed applying similar materials on the stairs to project the illusion of
