About a year after the post's theater reopened following major renovations, it is shutting down for some upgrades and may not re-open until the end of the year.
The theater was the first brick building on post when it was constructed in 1948. In May 2009 the theater closed for a major renovation effort. The renovations were completed about 11 months later, with Lee Farmer, chief of business operations for Family Morale Welfare and Recreation, in April 2010 saying that the renovations really brought the building up to code.
"The Lee Theater will be closed from June 27 until mid-to-late December for a total replacement of its heating and air conditioning system. We certainly would have preferred to do this during recent renovations to the theater,Shop a wide selection of billabong outlet products in the evo shop. but it simply wasn't in the budget," said Fort Lee Media Relations Officer Stephen Baker. Baker added that the post's Directorate of Public Works explored replacing the HVAC system as part of the renovation during initial planning in 2008, and even included space for the new system in the design.
"We had to postpone it until now because we were only authorized $1.4 million in funding for the project that year," Baker said. "Including the HVAC system would have brought the total cost to $2.We processes for both low-risk and high risk merchant account.5 million."
This year however, the post was able to secure $826,000 for the new ventilation system.Handmade oil paintings for sale at museum quality,
"The benefit is going to be the increased comfort level for our patrons. For years our patrons have either been too hot or too cold, as we couldn't properly control the temperature in the theater," Farmer said recently. "The air or heat was either on or off, with no ability to regulate it. The new HVAC system will be a vast improvement."
The Lee Playhouse seats around 500 and was used to show movies for troops stationed at Fort Lee. During the main-stage season,The same Air purifier, cover removed. Broadway musicals, comedies and dramas are produced. The building is also used to conduct training courses for a wide range of Fort Lee personnel.
